Food is more than nourishment. It is a reflection of culture, identity, migration and community. In celebration of Filipino American History Month and Filipino Food Week, the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaiʻi invites members and guests to a special forum exploring “Food: A Cultural Marker of the Filipino Diaspora” and the ways Filipino food traditions have helped shape Hawaiʻi’s cuisine, entrepreneurship and trade.

Presented in partnership with the Hawaiʻi Philippines Business & Economic Council (HPBEC), the discussion will bring together leaders from Hawaiʻi’s food, business, education and cultural communities to examine the influence of the Filipino diaspora through food, from preserving culinary traditions to building businesses and contributing to Hawaiʻi’s diverse local food culture.

Join us on Tuesday, October 13, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Restaurant 604’s Waterfront Pavilion for an evening of conversation, connection and celebration.

71 years of promoting business in Hawaii

The Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii’s 71-year history dates back to a time when a group of Filipino businessmen - civic minded and fueled with the desire to unite the then fledgling Filipino business community - met in 1947. Today, FCCH represents a growing influence of changemakers in Hawaii, and in the Filipino diaspora.
